Impressionist painter Sheila Swanson, a lifelong Texan, resides in the beautiful Hill Country with her husband, Nick. Sheila says, "For me to have become a painter is especially exciting!" The love of crayons, paint, brushes and clay began at the tender age of 10. Since then, Sheila has taken art from being a hobby to seriously studying throughout the years with Warren Hunter, and Ivan MacDougal, both local but nationally known watercolorists; then adding Ray Vinella, Gil Dellinger, Matt Smith, Louise Cadillac and a host of other outstanding painters! Doing art, in fact, living art has been and remains a great fulfillment. Sheila, an award-winning artist, exhibits her work professionally through juried shows, museum exhibits, galleries, solo exhibitions, and a one-time cultural exchange with Kumomoto, Japan.
A past president of San Antonio Watercolor Group and the Trinity Art League, Sheila also maintains memberships in the following:
Oil Painters of America
Texas Watercolor Society
River Art Group
Texas Highways Magazine selected Sheila's notecards as a new product in the Gift Gallery.
